We are so happy to discover that our very own Debbie Grifka will be one of the elite Workshop Instructors at QuiltCon! Those who were able to attend the meeting last night saw a preview of the projects she'll be teaching, and they are AWESOME. If you are planning on going to QuiltCon, and want to learn about applique - keep an eye out for her classes! She has three courses planned - one on needle-turn applique, another showcasing her beautiful bias-tape applique technique, and another lovely machine-applique project.
Congratulations, Debbie!

Weekly Round-Up
Let's see what's been going on with our guild-member bloggers the past couple of weeks...
Lynn finished her beautiful "Nancy" quilt! Such an artful use of scraps and stunning quilting...
Lynn is also working on this lovely project...
Kathy has some more Post Card blocks to show (as well as lots of other projects in the works...)
Emily made this adorable shirt for her older daughter...
I made some more quilted Priest Stoles...
Debbie blogged about our recent swap...
... And so did Ashley!
You should also check out some of the cute clothing items Ashley's been cranking out. Look here, and here, and here!
and even with all of her round-the-world adventures, Ronit managed to piece together these cheerful string blocks for a bee...

Old Business:
The trip to the Cincinnati Quilt Show was great and all who attended had a great time and bought a lot of fabric!
The Artisan Market looks promising: Jenna is reaching out to the market to see if it would be okay for us to reserve a spot in advance and if one of our guild members having a sales tax license is sufficient. We will need to fill out an application form once these questions are answered.
The Sewing Retreat dates still have to be confirmed, but it's highly likely it will be during the weekend of June 22. We further discussed cooking for ourselves at the retreat.
We agreed as a guild to volunteer to construct a charity quilt out of the extra blocks made for the QuiltCon Block Challenge. If you would like to attend Quilt Con, Brenda has reserved two rooms and may have space for you.
New Business:
Maker Works is hosting a Grand Opening celebration and would love to display quilts from our guild members and would also like to have some of our members at the event. The event is on May 12 from 12 - 4. If you would like to attend as a representative of A2MQG, please contact Brenda to discuss arrangements. And of course all are welcome to attend at anytime during the event just to enjoy the celebration!
Maker Works has given us some wall space to showcase our guild. Please bring photos of your quilts to display. Photos printed on office paper are fine, unless you're Rossie.
