Hey guild members! At our July meeting we will have a lottery swap, this time featuring the churn dash block. It's a traditional block with an awesome shape, and it's really cool to see in modern fabrics. I particularly love Jacey's version.
We are going to follow the the tutorial the 12 inch churn dash tutorial from A Quilting Life, here. The block that you bring to guild should measure 12.5" square.
*** At June's meeting there was a discussion about doing 9" finished sized blocks. If you have already made your 9" block - that's fine! Bring them and we'll have blocks of different sizes in the pool - that's like totally a ~modern~ thing to do. ; )
The tutorial uses a different color for the center as opposed to the background. Jacey's quilt has the center and the background the same. You can do whichever you want!
Reminder of what a lottery swap is: For each block you bring, you get one entry into the drawing. One lucky winner goes home with all the blocks. Let's all make one so some lucky duck gets enough for a quilt top!
